Your data stays yours. This page explains exactly what DataMergeStudio does – and doesn’t do – with the information in your projects.
DataMergeStudio never sends any data from your datasource to our servers. Ever. Your spreadsheets, records, images, and the documents you produce stay on your machine. The onliest place this can happen is the AI support – check below.
The only thing we collect is usage statistics tied to your account on datamergestudio.com – never the contents of your data. For the full picture, see our privacy policy.
DataMergeStudio has two AI features, and they treat your data very differently.
The AI node is the one feature that sends record data – because that is its job. It passes the data you connect to it, together with the system prompt you set, to the AI model so the model can write, rewrite, or translate for you.
Where that request goes depends on how you run it:
So if you want AI processing without anything passing through our infrastructure, use BYOK.
The AI assistant helps you build your merge. It receives a lot of context about your project, but it does not send your data. The only content it sees is what you type into the chat and your field names – the first row of your datasource. The records themselves are never sent.
